Israel denies claim it has killed Buenos Aires bombers

Israel is denying the recent claim by a former Israeli ambassador to Argentina that his country has already killed most of the perpetrators of the bombing of the AMIA building in Buenos Aires, AP reports.

Yigal Palmor, a spokesman for the Israeli foreign ministry, referred to the claim as “complete nonsense” but refused to make any further explanations.

Earlier this week, Itzhak Aviran, a former Israel ambassador to Argentina, was quoted by the media as commenting on the 1994 AMIA explosion, saying: “the great majority of the guilty ones are already in the other world, and it was we who did this."

He repeated Israeli claims that Iranians were the main perpetrators of the attack.

Argentina has charged several Iranian officials in the case, but Iran has repeatedly denied any involvement in the incident.

Argentina is participating in a joint effort with Iran to resolve the matter through diplomatic cooperation.
