The former Israeli ambassador to Argentina, Itzhak Aviran, says Israel has already killed most of the perpetrators of the AMIA bombing in Buenos Aires,
AFP quoted Aviran telling Argentinian media: “The large majority of those responsible are no longer of this world.”
In 1994, a bomb explosion at the Association Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA) building in Buenos Aires led to the death of 85 people and injured 300 others.
Later, Argentina charged eight Iranian officials with involvement in the bombings. Iran has, however, denied any involvement in the incident and has offered to cooperate with the Argentinian government in a truth-seeking committee.
Now, Aviran is accusing Argentinian authorities of failing to take any substantial steps "to get to the bottom of this tragedy."
Argentina is home to the largest Jewish community in South America.
