Iran’s non-resident chargé d'affaire to Britain reports that a British parliamentary delegation will visit Iran for a three-day visit in January.
Mohammad Hassan Habibollahzadeh, who recently travelled to London, told Khaneh Mellat that he met with British foreign ministry and parliamentary officials during his trip and arranged for the visit of the British delegation in January.
IRNA reports that labour party parliamentarian Jack Straw will lead the British delegation.
Iran-Britain relations soured two years ago after an attack on the British embassy in Tehran. Their respective embassies were consequently closed and all diplomats withdrawn.
The new Iranian administration has made efforts to rebuild relations with Britain, and the two countries have now begun diplomatic relations at the level of non-resident chargé d'affaires.
