Workers at the Pariz Darrezar Mine in Kerman gathered in protest in front of Sirjan governor’s offices to demand their unpaid wages.
ISNA reports that more than 40 local mine workers declared at the protest: “Incomes from working in the mine are meagre.”
They add that they were told the mine would only hire local workers, but that has not been the case.
The workers say their wages are often delayed for months, which leaves them unable to support themselves.
The Kerman Islamic Students News Agency (ISNA) took down the story a few hours after it was published.
