New round of nuclear talks between Iran and the world powers over Iran’s nuclear program and the necessary steps for the implementation of the Geneva agreement began on Thursday December 19 and will continue into Friday, IRNA reports.
On December 12, the Iranian delegation wrapped up the earlier round of expert-level talks and returned to Iran after the US Senate blacklisted new entities for dealing with Iran. The move was considered to violate the spirit of cooperation in the Geneva agreement.
The world powers have agreed to ease some sanctions on Iran in exchange for certain restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program.
The current talks will establish the extent of the easing of sanctions and clarification of what financial transactions with Iran will be permissible.
