Three Iranian passengers died after a boat carrying asylum seekers capsized in the waters near Java.
AFP reports that Indonesian Police announced the news on Tuesday December 10, saying the boat capsized on Monday and they were able to save the lives of 20 asylum seekers.
The boat was carrying a number of Burmese Rohingan Muslim minorities as well as Iranian and Bangladeshi passengers aiming to claim refuge in Australia.
In September, another boat carrying asylum seekers capsized in these waters, leading to the death of 40 passengers.
