The International Atomic Energy Agency has confirmed that the recent earthquake in Bushehr did not harm the Bushehr Nuclear Plant.
On Friday, an IAEA spokesperson told ISNA that the earthquake that shook Berazjan in no way affected the nuclear plant in Bushehr, confirming that the plant continues to work at full capacity.
The report stressed that the plant is built to withstand strong earthquakes and meets one of the highest standards of safety in the world.
On Thursday, an earthquake measured at 5.7 on the richter scale shook Berazjan in Bushehr Province, leaving eight dead and dozens injured. The earthquake was followed by strong aftershocks measured at 4.1 and 3.7.
