Iran’s Revolutionary Guards ground forces in Sistan-Baluchistan province have announced that four suspects have been arrested in the case of the Zabol prosecutor’s assassination.
ISNA reports that the head of IRGC public relations announced: “This assassination was in no way linked to the anti-regime terrorist groups.”
On November 6, 2013, Mousa Nouri, the Zabol prosecutor, was assassinated, and the dissident militant group Jeysh-ol-Adl took responsibility for the operation.
The group announced that the assassination was in reaction to the execution of 15 Baluchis in prison.
It claimed that the Zabol prosecutor together with Zahedan prosecutor have “committed numerous crimes” including executing the 16 Baluchis.
The IRGC reports, however, that the Zabol prosecutor’s assassination was linked to smuggling activities in the region.
