On Saturday Nov. 23, the Arturo drama school in Cologne, Germany will exhibit 101 portraits by Iranian painter Arta Davari depicting Iranians living in exile.
The artist told Radio Zamaneh that the subjects of the portraits are all friends or acquaintances of his.
The pieces have been painted on pages from books, depicting people from all walks of life.
Arta Davari is a self-taught artist from the south neighbourhoods of Tehran. He says he considers his true teachers to have been a variety of street performers such as passion play performers, buskers, dancers, storytellers, palm readers and puppeteers.
