The White House has urged the U.S. Senate Banking Committee to delay another sanctions bill against Iran.
Congress has been pressing for intensified sanctions on Iran, but the administration is calling for a halt on sanctions in order to give the nuclear negotiations with Iran a chance to reach a possible resolution.
The talks will resume on November 7-8 in Geneva between Iran and the 5+1 delegations.
Unilateral sanctions by the U.S. and EU have put a serious strain on the Iranian economy, with widespread shortages and rising inflation.
