An exploding land mine in Marivan, in northwestern Iran, has left seven children injured.
Kordpa reports that the explosion occurred in Nashkas near an abandoned military base, injuring seven children aged eight to 10.
Kashin Karimi, one of the victims, has reportedly lost a leg.
The base was reportedly abandoned 15 years ago but land mines left from the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s remain a serious concern for residents of Iran’s western border cities.
