Iran’s minister of Industry, Mining and Trade says the country’s auto production decreased by 44 percent in the first six months of the year.
ISNA reports that Mohammadreza Nematzadeh told a press conference that the industry had expected to produce 900,000 cars this year; however, the reduced output so far has thrown that goal into question.
The Iranian auto-making industry has been in crisis in recent years with the impact of international sanctions and the scrapping of government subsidies.
