One hundred and twenty workers at the Arvandan Shipbuilding Company in Khuzestan have not received their wages or benefits for over six months and are facing possible dismissal.
The region’s Workers Association reports that in addition to the six months’ worth of unpaid wages from this year, the workers have not been paid for four months of work from the previous year.
The report adds that the company did not renew the contracts for 15 contract workers due to financial difficulties.
The Aravandan Shipbuilding Company is in the investment portfolio of the country’s Social Security Fund.
