The U.S. Secretary of State says a deal with Iran over nuclear issues is possible within months if Iran’s nuclear program is shown to be peaceful.
John Kerry said in an interview with 60 Minutes on CBS: “We need to have a good deal here. And a good deal means that it is absolutely accountable, fail safe in its measures, to make certain this is a peaceful program. If it is a peaceful program, and we can all see that — the whole world sees that — the relationship with Iran can change dramatically for the better and it can change fast."
The Iranian president previously said he is aiming to complete a nuclear agreement with the 5+1 within three to six months.
Kerry stressed that sanctions against Iran can be lifted once all parties sign an agreement that guarantees Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful.
