Dozens dead after buses collide in Tehran-Qom

More than 60 people were killed and many injured in a severe bus accident in Tehran-Qom on Monday night September 9.

ILNA reports that the accident and subsequent explosion have so far claimed 63 lives.

A burst tire reportedly pushed the vehicle into the next lane where it collided head-on with another bus.

The Mehr News Agency reports that the severity of the fire has made it hard to identify the victims.

Tens of thousands of people are killed and injured in road accidents in Iran each year, making Iran’s accident rate one of the three highest in the world.
