The Iranian consulate in the western Afghan city of Herat was the scene of protests that led to clashes with security forces and at least one death.
Press TV reports that the clash between the police and those who attacked the Iranian consulate left at least one dead and five injured.
A spokesman for the Herat Police announced that the attack was a reaction to the consulate’s “slow visa process” for Afghan citizens.
Herat Police stressed that everything is now under control and the crowd around the building has been dispersed.
