Iranian foreign ministry

President Hassan Rohani transferred the responsibility for Iran’s nuclear negotiations to its foreign ministry on Thursday September 5.
Nuclear negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 have been ongoing since 2003 and during that time they’ve been supervised by the Supreme Council of National Security.
Previous lead negotiators were Hassan Rohani, Ali Larijani and Saeed Jalili, in that order.
Iran is set to resume talks with the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna later this month.
Iran claims its nuclear program is completely peaceful, but a number of Western countries suspect Islamic Republic officials may decide to move toward building atomic weapons.
