Hossein Ronaghi Maleki, the jailed Iranian blogger who’s on a hunger strike, and his mother, Zoleikha Mousavi, who is also on a hunger strike in support of her son, are both in critical condition, says Ahmad Ronaghi Maleki, the family’s father.
Ahmad Ronaghi Maleki told the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran that he is gravely concerned for his son, who is being denied sick leave by the authorities.
He added that his wife, who is refusing to eat as a sympathy protest of her son’s predicament, is now unable to leave her bed.
Hossein Ronaghi Maleki has been on hunger strike since August 9. Last Wednesday, he was taken to hospital in critical condition but refused to take food or serums.
Ronaghi Maleki was arrested after the controversial election of 2009 and sentenced to 15 years in jail for “propaganda against the regime and insulting the leader and the president.”
