Iranian opposition website reports that a majority of female political prisoners in Tehran’s Evin Prison are being denied any furloughs.
Kaleme website reports that 17 of the 25 female political prisoners in Evin have never been granted a temporary leave since the beginning of their incarceration.
The report adds that these political prisoners are serving anywhere from five- to 20-year sentences without ever being given a furlough.
Fariba Kamalabadi, Mahvash Shahriyari, Shabnam Madadzadeh and Kobra Banazadeh are among those serving long prison terms who so far have not been granted a leave.
The report also indicates that in the past two years, female political prisoners have also been deprived of phone calls to their families and are only allowed one hour a week to walk outside in the fresh air.
