Tehran City Council announced a plan to provide 10,000 more bicycles across the city to supplement public transportation for citizens.
ILNA reports that the plan was announced by the head of City Traffic and Transportation, Jafar Tashakori Hashemi, who added that the goal is to promote bicycle use within the city.
Currently, 4,000 bicycles are already provided by the city as part of public transportation services.
Smart cards will let citizens use the bicycles on an hourly basis.
