Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s new Foreign Minister, and Catherine Ashton, the head of EU foreign policy, spoke about prospective nuclear talks on Sunday August 18.
Zarif stressed that Iran has “the political will and serious determination” to resolve the nuclear dispute.
The Mehr News Agency reports that Iran has announced its readiness to attend a meeting at a specified time.
Ashton reportedly congratulated the new foreign minister on his appointment and expressed every hope that nuclear negotiations would resume as soon as possible.
Ashton raised the possibility of meeting with Zarif on the sidelines of the UN General meeting in September.
