Ali Akbar Salehi

Iranian President Hassan Rohani has appointed former foreign minister Ali Akbar Salehi to be the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency.
Salehi previously served as the head of the agency, before Mahmoud Ahmadinejad appointed him to the top post in the foreign ministry.
IRNA reports that Salehi has been appointed as deputy president and head of the Atomic Energy Agency by the new president.
Salehi has maintained a non-partisan stance in recent years and was quoted as saying that the foreign ministry and the nuclear agency should promote the more general and encompassing policies of the regime.
