The head of dairy chicken farmers, Nasser Nabipour, reports that the price of eggs has gone up by 30 percent.
ILNA reports that according to Nabipour, the price of eggs has risen by nearly one third, contradicting Central Bank reports of a 2.7-percent drop in the price of eggs.
Nabipour said rising grain prices are responsible for the price increase.
Farmers are forced to pay high prices for the grain, and many of them are opting to sell their chicken to slaughterhouses early because they cannot afford to feed them any longer.
