The Iranian National Basketball team beat Taiwan today, August 10, and earned a spot at the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain.
ISNA reports that Iran defeated Taiwan 79 to 60 in a semi-final game of the FIBA Asia Championship.
Iran will compete in the final against the winner of the semi-final game between South Korea and the Philippines.
Until this year, the FIBA World Cup was known as the World Basketball Championship.
