
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has obtained a licence to establish a new university in Tehran.
At the latest meeting of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced that he has obtained the necessary permission from the Ministry of Science to launch a new university.
The Mehr News Agency reports that the council issued the licence that will allow the president to carry out his project.
The Tasnim News Agency cites informed sources saying Ahmadinejad plans to run the university as a non-profit organization under the name “Iranians” with a focus on Information and New Technology.
As the outgoing president of Iran, Ahmadinejad will hand over the administration to president-elect Hassan Rohani on August 3.
