Mehdi Karroubi

Iranian opposition leader Mehdi Karroubi, who has been under house arrest for over two years, was once again taken to hospital three days ago.
A report from Saham News on Thursday July 25 states that Mehdi Karroubi has been under arrest for two years in a Ministry of Intelligence “safe building” where he is deprived of fresh air and sunlight, which has caused pulmonary and digestive complications.
The physicians have stressed that the conditions of his house arrest are exacerbating his health problems, but according to the report, security officials have refused to let Karroubi return to his own home.
Karroubi was admitted to hospital last week for similar complications and for a series of tests.
