Ahmad Tavakoli
Iranian MP Ahmad Tavakoli has called for the Intelligence Minister to be summoned to Parliament over recent reports that an MP`s office was illegally wiretapped by an unknown group.
The Mehr News Agency reports that Tavakoli said: “It is perplexing how the Intelligence Ministry could have tried to control a senior member of Parliament.”
Tavakoli said such actions are a direct threat against independent and outspoken members of Parliament.
Ali Motahari, a veteran MP from the conservative faction, announced yesterday that he had discovered illegal wiretapping and video-surveillance equipment in his air-conditioning system.
