The governor of Chabahar announced today, Tuesday July 9, that an individual who planned to blow himself up at Chabahar Security headquarters was identified before entering the premises and was killed during crossfire.
IRNA reports that according to the Chabahar governor, the individual was carrying a handgun in addition to being equipped with an explosive vest and grenades.
Iraj Heydari reported that the identified culprit began shooting at the guards at the door, and a soldier was injured during the incident.
Sistan-Baluchistan Province in southeastern Iran has been the target of several terrorist attacks in recent years.
