The deputy head of Qeshm security forces says an “illegal unauthorized foreigner and member of the Taliban” has been arrested in the southern Island.
The local website Sobh Sahel reported on Abdolreza Zarbat’s announcement that the detainee is an Afghan national and that: “Following preliminary investigations, the individual confessed that 70 days ago he joined the Taliban and was given a mission to enter Iran to gather weapons, ammunition and clothing.”
Zarabat added that the prisoner is now in the custody of the Intelligence Ministry for further investigation.
