Iran’s national volleyball team managed to defeat its Cuban counterparts in another unprecedented performance at the FIVB world league games.
The Iranian team managed to come back after losing the first two sets and went on to win three sets to sew up the victory.
The Iranian team’s Argentinian coach, Julio Velasco, called the victory “a shot of confidence” for his team.
On June 30, Italy defeated Iran 3-2 in Sardinia, after being defeated 3-1 by Iran two days earlier in Modena.
The Iranian team gained its first world league victory by defeating Serbia on June 23.
Iran is now fifth in Pool B and will face off against Cuba again in Havana on Sunday.
