Hassan Rohani
Hassan Rohani remains the front runner in the presidential race as the preliminary results of the vote count trickled into Iranian media.
According to ILNA over 52 percent of the 5.4 million votes counted by 9 AM on Saturday June 15 were for Hassan Rohani.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf trails behind at second place with just under 1 million votes and the following spots are occupied by Saeed Jalili, Mohsen Rezai, Ali Akbar Velayati and Mohammad Gharazi respectively.
Rohani was the only remaining reformist candidate in the group and in the past week, all prominent reform figures rallied in his support dropping the earlier contemplated strategy of boycotting the elections.
