Russian President Vladimir Putin says that as in the past, there is no evidence that Iran is in any way violating its commitments under the Non-Proliferation Treaty.
Ria Novosti reports that Putin said: “I have no doubt that Iran is sticking to the rules, since there is no proof it isn’t.”
Putin added that all IAEA reports indicate that Iran is in compliance with all of its NPT obligations.
He recognized that they are some unresolved issues that can be addressed with patience.
The U.S. and the EU have imposed widespread unilateral sanctions on Iran over suspicions that Iran may have military ambitions in its nuclear program, but Iran denies the allegations and says its nuclear program is completely peaceful.
