Berlin concert to benefit Iranian children, rights
Roxana Saberi

Iranian peace activist Roxana Saberi will present the HOPE Concert at the Velodrom in Berlin on June 7, 2013 in support of the Iranian people.

The International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran reports that the concert is a welcome opportunity to raise awareness about the state of human rights in Iran and express solidarity with the people of Iran.

The line-up consists of international stars including Alanis Morissette, Natasha Bedingfield, DJ Steve Angello, and lead singer John Martin of the Swedish House Mafia, Iranian musicians Andy Madadian and Ebi, Greek musician Alkistis Protopsalti, the co-founder and original guitarist of the band The Police Henry Padovani, American songwriter Shani, Israeli singer Liel Kolet, the new “Bluesman” Stephen Dale Petit, Valy Hedjasi, and Yanni.

Stevie Wonder is contributing his son “My Love”, and Humberto Gatica will produce the finale in which all the musicians will perform Wonder’s song.

The report adds that “all proceeds from the tickets will be donated to the NGO Children of Persia to finance medical treatment for children in Iran, and to the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran.”
