Four hundred construction workers staged a protest at a mosque in the Tehran Pars section of Tehran.
ILNA reports that Mohammad Bagheri, a board member of the Association of Construction Workers of Tehran Province, said: “Four hundred construction workers gathered to protest the government’s failure to resolve their insurance needs and the lack of a proper framework to regulate worker pay.”
Bagheri added that the workers are protesting government inaction towards their demands.
Labour analysts in Iran say workers face growing insecurity at work and an inability to meet their household costs due to steadily rising prices.
