Reports on Friday May 10 indicate that more than 300 people have already registered for the Iranian presidential race.
IRNA reports that the Interior Minister announced that 336 individuals have officially registered so far to run in the presidential race.
According to the report, eight of the nominees are women.
Iran’s 11th presidential election will take place on June 14. Registration for candidates will continue until tomorrow, May 11.
The Guardian Council will then have to review the applications and rule on their eligibility. Only those found eligible by the Guardian Council will be allowed to run in the elections.
