The next round of talks between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency will take place on May 21 in Vienna, Reuters reports.
The last two rounds of negotiations between Iran and the agency were carried out in Tehran and failed to yield any concrete results.
Ali Asghar Soltanieh, Iran’s representative to the IAEA, will head the Iranian delegation, while Herman Nackaerts, the deputy head of the agency, will lead the IAEA delegation.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that Rafael Grossi, the IAEA Deputy Director and one of the chief members of the IAEA delegation dealing with Iran, has announced his resignation, and Nackaerts, the chief inspector, is set to retire later this year.
Agency chief Yukiya Amano has said, however, that Grossi’s resignation will not alter the IAEA negotiation policies with Iran.
Iran has continuously announced that it has no intention of taking its nuclear power development in a military direction.
