
Two Iranian pilgrims were killed in an accident involving a service truck at the airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and another two were injured.
The Central News Unit quoted Gholamreza Rezai, the head of Iran’s Haj and Pilgrimage Organzation, saying the incident took place at 5:15 PM on Thursday April 4on Jeddah Airport grounds.
Rezai added that the Iranian pilgrims were waiting for the airport transfer bus when a service truck went out of control due to mechanical problems and ran into the crowd of travellers.
Pari Arfa, 78, and Zahra Atashzay, 61, were killed in the incident, and the two injured individuals are now in hospital and receiving treatment.
