Pourya Alami and Milad Fadayi Asl, two detained Iranian journalists, were released by the judiciary on Wednesday February 27.
Pourya Alami, a daily humourist for Shargh, and Milad Fadayi Asi, the editor of ILNA’s political section, were released from Evin Prison.
The journalists were arrested during a campaign of arrests directed at journalists in Iran in the past month. Many who were arrested in the past month have been release but some remain incarcerated.
The Ministry of Intelligence says it has discovered a network of journalists connected with elements abroad and involved in anti-regime propaganda.
So far, none of the journalists have been formally charged but all those who’ve been released have put up bail and may be recalled for a trial or further questioning.
