Iran unveiled its latest domestically built fighter jet today, February 2: the Qaher-313 (Conqueror-313).
Iranian media report that the Iranian Defence Minister, Commander Ahmad Vahidi, told reporters the “advanced fighter jet Qaher 313, built completely by Iranian experts, can fly at low altitudes, carry a payload of domestic weapons and ammunition with a surface that impedes radar detection and an advanced hydroelectric system.”
The Qaher-313 is the third generation of Iran’s domestically built fighter jets after the Azarakhsh and the Saeqeh.
The Iranian president told ISNA at the ceremony marking the launch of the new fighter jet that Iran’s military objectives have always been “defense and deterrence” and its advancement is never aimed at “expansionism or violations of the rights of others.”
