Heshmatollah Tabarzadi
Iranian political prisoner Heshmatollah Tabarzadi has been given a furlough after three years in jail.
Tabarzadi was last arrested in December of 2009 in the severe crackdown on political dissidents that followed the 2009 presidential election.
Tabarzadi was director of several student publications such as Payam-e Daneshjoo and Neday-e Daneshjoo.
Tabarzadi was sentenced to 10 years in jail for the charge of “propaganda against the regime and insulting the leader.”
Tabarzadi is one of the founders of the Union of Islamic Student and Alumni Associations as well as the Democratic Front of Iran.
