Four Iranian films will be screened at the 25th International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), which began November 14 and continues until November 25.
Iranian films in the festival are Taha Karimi’s “I am a White Mercenary”, Farahnaz Sharifi’s “Bahama Revolution Memories of Leyla’s Lover”, Reza Razavi’s “Leaden Seconds” and Mohammadreza Fartoosi’s “25 Individuals.”
Iranian filmmaker Samira Makhmalbof will be part of this year's jury at the IDFA.
The festival offers awards in nine categories for documentaries of various lengths, with total prizes amounting to 46,500 euros.
The 25th anniversary of the IDFA will be marked with a focus on Dutch documentaries and the “Why Poverty?” initiative, a day-long screening of films produced by various public broadcast television stations and their non-profit charitable foundation partners.
