Ten people executed for drug offences

Iranian authorities executed 10 individuals for drug offences on Monday morning, with the Mehr News Agency reporting that they were “members of two large drug r

ings.”Mehr reports that the first group consisted of Farshid Rostami, Fahrad Mashhadi, Ali Darvishi, Abbas Abbasi, Saeed Sedighi, Hamid Rabii, and Mohammadali Rabii, who were found in possession of “a ton of methamphetamines and distributed synthetic drugs all across the city.”

The second group consisting of Alireza Molayi, Eshagh Lorgi and Yousef Parmar were also found “in possession of a ton of opium and bringing it into the country through one of the southern harbours hidden in subtle canisters.”

The prosecutor’s office also announced that the convicts had established several companies inside and outside the country to launder large sums of money and had bought many pieces of property in top locations in Tehran as well as several high-end vehicles, which have all been confiscated.

On Sunday another three were executed in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan, accused of links to the militant group Jundallah.

Yahya Charizehi, Abdoljalil Kahrazehi, and Abdolbasset Rigi were convicted of “enmity with God and corruption on earth” for involvement in the 2010 bombing in Chabahar. The bombing, for which Jundallah took responsibility, claimed the lives of 38 people.
