
Two people have been killed and five injured in a suicide attack on a mosque in Chabahar in Southeast Iran.
IRNA reports that on Friday afternoon, the IRGC and Basij forces identified a suspect carrying explosives while entering the mosque. The individual detonated his suicide belt just outside the mosque and halted the Friday mass prayers with the explosion.
Red Crescent officials report that the incident killed two people and wounded five others, who are being treated for their injuries.
Sistan-Baluchistan Province has seen several violent attacks in recent years, and the Sunni militant group Jundallah, which claims to fight for the rights Baluchis and Sunnis in the region, has claimed responsibility for some these attacks.
