
Iranian Paralympic caravan in London has won six gold medals and a total of ten medals so far at the 14th Paralympic games which kicked off on August 29.
Today, Tuesday September 4, Zahra Nemtai won gold in the women’s individual recurve in archery, beating her Italian and Chinese peers who won silver and bronze respectively.
Majid Farzin won gold in powerlifting at the 82.5 kg category lifting 235 kg. China’s Xiao Fei Gu attained silver raising 228 kg while the Egyptian lifter Metwaly Mathan got bronze raising 227 kg.
On Monday September 3, Ali Hosseini attained the gold medal in men’s powerlifting, raising 225 kg after lifting 216 kg and 220 kg in his first and second attempts. The silver medal went to the Egyptian competitor in this category while China collected the bronze.
Earlier, Mohsen Kaedi in the javelin throw, Nader Moradi in men’s weightlifting at the 60+ kg category and Jalil Bagheri in men’s shot put collected another three gold medals for the Iranian caravan.
Ruhollah Rostami competing in powerlifting, Mehrdad Karamzadeh in discus throw and Abdolreza Jokar in men’s Javelin throw attained three silver medals for the Iranian team.
The first Iranian medal was won by Sareh Javanmardi, who got the bronze medal in women’s air pistol shooting.
With a total of ten medals so far, Iran is ranked 9th on the medals count chart.
