Iranian freestyle wrestlers won bronze medals in the 84 kg and 120 kg categories at the London Olympics yesterday, bringing Iran’s medal count to 12.
Ehsan Lashkari defeated his Turkish Adversary on Saturday and shared the bronze medal with Dato Marsagishvili from Georgia in the 84 kg category.
The silver medal in this category went to Puerto Rico’s Espinal and the gold to Azerbaijan’s Sharifov.
Iran’s Komeil Ghassemi also defeated his American adversary on Saturday and attained the bronze medal in the 120 kg category together with Russia’s Makhov.
In this category, Georgia’s Modzmanashvili and Uzbekistan’s Taymazov won silver and gold respectively.
On Friday, Iran’s Sadegh Goudarzi won the silver medal in 74 kg freestyle wrestling.
With four gold, five silver and three bronze medals, Iran is in 16th place on the medal chart for the London Olympic Games.
