Omid Noroozi won Iran’s second gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling on the tenth day of the London Olympics, while Navab Nasirshelal won silver in weightlifting.
As Greco-Roman wrestling competitions continued in London on Monday, Omid Noroozi secured another gold medal for Iran, defeating his Georgian adversary in the finals of the 60 kg category.
Noroozi defeated wrestlers from China, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan and Japan to reach the finals and face Georgia’s Revaz Lashkhi.
On Sunday, Hamid Soryan, the Iranian wrestling champion in the 55 kg category, won Iran’s first gold medal at the London Olympics.
On Monday, Iranian weightlifter Navab Nasirshelal won a silver medal in the men’s 105 kg category. Earlier, Iran’s Kianoush Rostami had won a bronze in the men’s 85 kg weightlifting category.
