Iran’s Noshad Alamiyan lost to Germany’s Timo Bol in the third round of men’s singles table tennis match on Monday in the 2012 London Olympics Games.
The report indicates that while Alamiyan opened on par with Timo Bell but lost the final points and was not able to recover in the next sets.
The 21-year-old Iranian athlete told ISNA: “My opponent was very experienced and took advantage of all the opportunities and won. This 32 year old German ping pong player has spent between 15 to 20 years of his life playing ping pong and you can see his Olympic experiences in his style. He is the only European ping pong player that can defeat Chinese players.”
Alamiyan, a first time Olympian, had defeated Peng Tan from Hong Kong on Saturday and Australia’s Justin Han on Sunday to reach the 3rd round of the competition.
