Iran’s Elaheh Ahmadi finished sixth today in the women’s Shooting 10m air rifle at the London Olympic Games.
ISNA reports that Ahmadi first competed among 54 entrants, advancing to the finals, along with seven other shooters, with a score of 397 points. She finished sixth in the final with 1,102 points.
Mahlagha JamBozorg, another Iranian athlete in this competition, finished in 43rd place and did not advance to the final.
China’s Yi Siling won the gold medal, followed by Poland’s Sylwia Bogacka and China’s Yu Dan.
Meanwhile, Iranian rower Mohsen Shadi advanced to the final round of the Men’s Heavyweight Single Sculls, and Solmaz Abbasi did likewise on the women’s team.
Neda Shahsavari, an Iranian ping pong player, lost 3 to 4 to her Nigerian competitor. Nooshad Alamian, on the men’s team, will meet his Australian rival on Saturday afternoon.
Iranian cyclist Amir Zagari was injured during a race when he collided with another cyclist and was transferred to hospital.
Milad Sohrabi, another Iranian cyclist, had a time of 4 hours, 52 minutes and 55 seconds, finishing in 107th place.
Zahra Dehghan Abnavi, Iran’s sole female archer at the London Olympics, finished in 55th place amongst 64 participants.
