The Zagros Car Company has laid off 400 of its workers and is now reportedly close to shutting down.
ILNA reports that Mohammad Godarzi, a spokesman for Worker’s House in the region, says 400 of the workers have already been laid off, and the other 100 merely show up for work without any prospect of having their contract renewed.
The closing of the company is reportedly linked to the severing of relations with Malaysia as a production partner.
Many of the laid-off workers had passed paid training workshops in Malaysia, but the factory management says lack of cash flow is also a major problem faced by the company.
The head of Worker’s House, Alireza Mahjoub, announced in May that 100,000 workers in more than 1,000 productions units were laid off last year.
