Hooshyar Zibari

Iraq’s Foreign Minister Hooshyar Zibari says Iran is funding the Syrian regime.
Speaking to Figaro, Hooshyar Zibari denied reports that Iraq has been financing the Syrian regime, insisting that it’s Iran that provides such support.
Zibari noted that Syria’s ambassador to Iraq had defected to the opposition, adding that the Bashar Assad regime is losing more and more ground and is also under serious financial pressure.
He said Iraq is concerned that Syria could become a base for Al Qaida.
Zibari went on to say that since Saudi Arabia and Qatar are assisting the opposition, the future government of Syria will likely be akin to the Muslim Brotherhood.
